Marco Werner made sure that Audi remained on the top of the timesheets at Sebring on Wednesday, but the gap to the chasing pack was far from comfortable.

The LMP2 Porsches from Penske Racing were on blistering form, and both cars were just six tenths of a second adrift of the LMP1 R10, shared by 2006 Le Mans winners Werner, Emanuele Pirro, and Frank Biela.

Timo Bernhard was the fastest of the Porsche drivers, while Emmanuel Collard was less than a tenth slower in the sister car.

Dyson Racing's Andy Wallace was the best of the rest in the LMP2 class, and despite being another six tenths behind the Penske-run cars, his best lap was also under the current LMP2 lap record at Sebring.

Corvette Racing were the comfortable pace-setters in the GT1 class, while Tomas Enge set the quickest time in GT2 behind the wheel of a Ferrari 430.
