A feast for the fans: 20 percent more action at 20 percent lower ticket prices for the German finale at Hockenheim

DTM

Wiesbaden. In a little bit less than seven weeks, the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg will host the grand German finale of the 2010 DTM season. Even though two more championship rounds will be held after this event this season, fans in Germany can look forward to a spectacular event at Hockenheim. The board of the ITR e.V. and the two premium car manufacturers Audi and Mercedes-Benz have now come up with a special feature: the ninth DTM round at the Hockenheimring (October 17th) will be held at a track lay-out that is circa 20 percent shorter. Especially for this event, the circuit management will get the necessary reconstruction underway and will seek for approval by the German motorsport authority DMSB. With this track lay-out, the hairpin of the Grand Prix circuit will be left out and the DTM cars will take two sharp right-hand corners some 400 metres earlier to turn into the Motodrom section.

20 percent more action
For the fans, a 20 percent shorter track also means more action. Because of the changed lay-out, the DTM drivers and their cars will pass the fans circa 20 percent more often and thus have more frequent opportunities to outbrake their opponents before the newly-designed double corner.

Of course, all the DTM’s partner series are present again for the grand German finale: from Friday till Sunday, the Formula 3 Euro Series, the Porsche Carrera Cup, the Seat Leon Supercopa and the Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup will provide plenty of additional racing action.

For the last time in the 2010 DTM season, the ARD Chartshow guarantees entertainment with top-class live acts in the pitlane, getting the fans into the right mood for the race during the pit walkabout on Sunday.

Of course, the traditional fireworks display can’t be missed during the German finale of the most popular international touring car series. Once again, fans can look forward to an action-packed event at Hockenheim.

A 20 percent discount on the ticket price
Particularly pleasant news for the fans: there is not only 20 percent more action, but also, with immediate effect, a 20 percent discount on all weekend tickets for the A-grandstand in the bronze category. The discounted tickets can be ordered from the DTM ticket line at +49 (0) 1805 - 72 30 00 (14 ct./min. from German landlines, maximum mobile phone charge 42 ct./min. in Germany) and from the official website www.dtm.com.
