The DTM is coming to Munich: Green light for event in Olympic stadium from 2011

DTM

Nuremberg. From 2011, the Olympic stadium in Munich will be the venue for an extraordinary DTM event. This was announced during a joint press conference at the occasion of the fourth DTM round at the Norisring in Nuremberg by ITR chairman Hans Werner Aufrecht and Ralph Huber, managing director of the Olympiapark München GmbH. “This is a great perspective for Munich. After all, the city is also an important location for the international automotive industry”, said stadium director Ralph Huber.

The stadium event will be held on a specially designed race course on asphalt with a length of 1,192 metres under the roof of the Olympic stadium. Thus, an excellent view of the qualifying races on Saturday and the knock-out competition of the genuine DTM cars on Sunday is guaranteed from every place in the stadium. Additional highlights like stunt shows, live concerts with international top acts and demonstration runs from the DTM partner series will complete the two-day event for the entire family. “With this event, we will set a new benchmark”, says Hans Werner Aufrecht. “I am happy that the DTM is coming to the fans. The DTM fans can look forward to a very special atmosphere.” The ARD has been signed as a partner for the TV and radio coverage.
