Mitsubishi Fuso Enters Puerto Rico Market

Kawasaki, Japan ? Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), one of Asia?s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, has announced its market entry into the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. The company has completed a sales and service agreement with the wholesale company Guaraguao Truck Sales, based in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. As a result of the agreement, Fuso brand trucks will be exported from Japan and distributed through Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America (MFTA) to Guaraguao Truck Sales in Puerto Rico.
?Puerto Ricohas further potential for growth in the future, and we hope that Fuso trucks will help support that development,? says Dr. Albert Kirchmann, President and CEO of MFTBC. ?Fuso?s entry into the Puerto Rico market is part of an initiative to strengthen the brand?s presence throughout North America.?
MFTBC?s product offerings for Puerto Rico include diesel-powered, cab-over engine light-duty and medium-duty trucks ranging from 5.7 tons to 15 tons. They will be built at MFTBC?s plant in Kawasaki, Japan, and exported as completely-built-up units to Puerto Rico.

The company is also augmenting its dealer network in North Americaby doubling the number of dealerships in Canadaand adding locations in the U.S. Overall, Fuso?s dealer network now totals over 200 locations in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. In the past ten years, Fuso has sold more than 51,000 vehicles in North America.
Established in 1985 in Logan Township, N.J., MFTA, a wholly-owned subsidiary of MFTBC, has been the base of all MFTBC operations in North America, including vehicles sales, marketing, product applications, distribution, dealer relations, parts, service and industry-leading warranty policy. MFTA will mark its 25th anniversary in 2010 and is approaching its 100,000th unit sales milestone since the start of its operation. Awarded the ?Service Contact Helpfulness? from the American Truck Dealer Association nine times, MFTA has also received the J.D.
