Timo Scheider leads 1-2-3 for Audi in Barcelona

Montmel?. Reigning DTM champion Timo Scheider (Audi) has won the eighth DTM season round at the Circuit de Catalunya. After 59 laps at the 2.977 kilometres long circuit, the German drove his Audi A4 DTM across the finish line in first place. The success for Audi in Spain was completed by his team-mates Tom Kristensen and Martin Tomczyk, who finished second and third. With his second win of the season, Scheider was able to extend his points? lead in the drivers? standings. Gary Paffett (Mercedes-Benz) finished fourth with his AMG Mercedes C-Class. Bruno Spengler (Mercedes-Benz), Mattias EKstr?m (Audi), Paul Di Resta (Mercedes-Benz) and Alexandre Pr?mat (Audi) completed the points-scoring positions in fifth to eighth place. Start      Kristensen takes the lead, Scheider alongside him.
Lap 1      Scheider has the better exit of the first corner and takes the lead from Kristensen and Di Resta, then Tomczyk and Paffett. Ekstr?m has lost sixth place to Pr?mat.
Lap 2      A three seconds' pit stop penalty is given to Mike Rockenfeller.
Lap 5      Timo Scheider has a margin of 2.2 seconds over Kristensen. Green and Stoddart tangle in the battle for 15th.
Lap 6      Ralf Schumacher has moved up from 20th to 14th place.
Lap 9      Di Resta runs wide, briefly off the track, but continues.
Lap 12      Schumacher puts Winkelhock under pressure for 13th.
Lap 13      Scheider's lead over Kristensen is already 3.5 seconds. Another 2.9 seconds down is Di Resta in third place, who has Tomczyk right behind him.
Lap 14      Di Resta, Paffett, Pr?mat, Lauda are the first drivers to come in for their pit stops.
Lap 15      Jarvis into the pits.
Lap 16      Green has overtaken Schumacher in the battle for tenth. Engel, Winkelhock, Legge, Bakkerud into the pits.
Lap 17      Kostka into the pits.
Lap 18      Kristensen, Tomczyk intro the pits.
Lap 19      Tomczyk rejoins ahead of Di Resta. Scheider, Rockenfeller into the pits.
Lap 20      Stoddart into the pits.
Lap 22      Spengler, Seidlitz into the pits.
Lap 23      Di Resta, Green into the pits. For Di Resta, it is his second stop already.
Lap 24      Ekstr?m, Paffett into the pits.
Lap 25      Schumacher, Lauda into the pits.
Lap 26      All drivers having made (at least) one pit stop, Scheider is leading from Kristensen, Tomczyk, Ekstr?m, Spengler, Pr?mat and Engel. Jarvis into the pits for his second stop.
Lap 27      Pr?mat into the pits.
Lap 28      Schumacher and Winkelhock battle for 12th place, Legge is pushed around by Stoddart, but continues. Engel, Legge into the pits. Legge retires.
Lap 29      Winkelhock into the pits after tangling with Green - retires. Paffett ad Di Resta battle for sixth, Paffett has an advantage under braking and gets past. Stoddart under investigation.
Lap 30      A three seconds' pit stop penalty for Jamie Green for causing an avoidable collision.
Lap 33      Scheider, Schumacher into the pits.
Lap 34      Drive-through penalty for Susie Stoddart for pushing another car. Spengler, Green into the pits.
Lap 36      Kristensen into the pits.
Lap 37      Stoddart into the pits for her drive-through. Rockenfeller into the pits.
Lap 38      Stoddart into the pits for her second stop. Tomczyk, Seidlitz also into the pits.
Lap 39      Warning for Mike Rockenfeller because of leaving the track.
Lap 40      Rockenfeller attacks Lauda for 11th. Bakkerud into the pits.
Lap 41      Ekstr?m and Kostka are the only drivers still having to make their second stops. Spengler attacks sixth-placed Di Resta. Kostka comes into the pits at the end of the lap.
Lap 43      Spengler outbrakes Di Resta before the first corner and takes over sixth place. Ekstr?m comes in for his second stop. Seidlitz also into the pits.
Lap 44      Ekstr?m rejoins just behind Paffett.

Lap 45      After the pit stops, Scheider is leading from Kristensen, Tomczyk, Paffett, Ekstr?m, Spengler, Di Resta, Pr?mat, Jarvis and Engel.
Lap 46      Ekstr?m right on the back of Paffett's car.
Lap 47      In the first corner, Ekstr?m hits the rear of Paffett's car as the Briton tries to defend his position.
Lap 48      Warning for Ekstr?m because of pushing another car.
Lap 49      Paffett locks up under braking as Ekstr?m keeps him under pressure.
Lap 50      Spengler has closed up to Ekstr?m as the Swede is locked up behind Paffett.
Lap 55      Scheider has a comfortable lead over Kristensen, but the battle between Paffett, Ekstr?m and Spengler is still going on.
Lap 57      Slight contact between Spengler and Ekstr?m.
Lap 58      Ekstr?m pulls up alongside Paffett, but Spengler benefits and gets past. Ekstr?m is now sixth. Warning for Spengler because of pushing another car.
Lap 59      Finish. Scheider wins from Kristensen, Tomczyk, Paffett, Spengler, Ekstr?m, Di Resta, Pr?mat, Jarvis and Engel.
