Hans StuckSportscar legend Hans Stuck is to return to the Sebring 12 Hours this year for the first time since 2001.

The 58-year-old German has been entered in a GT2 class Vici Racing Porsche, alongside his son Johannes Stuck and Vici regular Nicky Pastorelli.

Stuck took outright Sebring victories in 1986 and 1988, and also boasts two Le Mans wins, plus World Sportscar and IMSA titles amongst his career achievements.

He last raced regularly in the American Le Mans Series with the PTG BMW team in 2001, and continues to compete occasionally around his role as a motorsport consultant for Volkswagen.

Vici technical director Roland Wall was delighted to add Stuck to the team's line-up.

"I know Hans Joachim Stuck from Volkswagen Motorsport, when we were developing the brand new Scirocco into a race car for VLN and the Nurburgring 24 Hours, which they won," he said. "Hans Joachim was driving one of the Sciroccos in the 24 Hours with Carlos Sainz and Giniel de Villiers and Dieter Depping. He was very fast, very smooth and as committed as he ever is.

Hans Joachim will bring a huge level of experience to the team and with his success record at Sebring he will be invaluable to the team, it is great for us to be able to get him into the team."

Top Porsche GT driver Richard Westbrook will drive Vici Racing's other car at Sebring, alongside Marc Basseng and Lance David Arnold.
