Stuttgart/Berlin. As part of its global fashion engagement, Mercedes‑Benz will present the MBFW Berlin Autumn/Winter 2022 season at the "Kraftwerk" location from 14 to 16 March 2022. Invited by the title sponsor, Finnish emerging designer Sofia Ilmonen will present her new collection in the opening show this evening at 6:00 p.m. A digital auction of pieces and looks from the collections will be held during MBFW, with the money raised being donated to provide humanitarian aid for refugees from Ukraine. More details about the auction and further information about MBFW can be found at: mbfw.berlin.

"The company has decided to implement the Mercedes‑Benz Fashion Week Berlin. Through our long‑standing support of the MBFW, we would like to continue to mentor young international talents in the fashion industry and believe in the connecting element of fashion, art and design as a contribution to intercultural exchange. We teamed up with the designers to support the ongoing help measures for Ukraine by donating the proceeds from a digital auction of pieces from their MBFW collections to the charity organization Caritas. Mercedes‑Benz Germany will also be adding a further amount to the total raised after the auction closure", said Jens Kunath, Head of Passenger Car Sales Germany and Member of the Board of Management of the Mercedes‑Benz Cars Sales Organisation Germany.

Support for help measures: Auction of collection pieces from the designers at MBFW

By an auction, Mercedes‑Benz is offering exclusive access to designer pieces from the MBFW collections. Individual pieces and looks by the designers at MBFW will be auctioned as part of a fundraising campaign. The silent auction allows interested parties to submit hidden bids directly via Instagram ("Direct Message" to @mbfw.berlin). The total figure raised, including the additional amount from Mercedes‑Benz, will be donated to the charity Caritas to provide humanitarian aid to refugees from Ukraine. The auction will run for the full duration of MBFW from 14 to 16 March 2022.

Mercedes‑Benz presents Sofia Ilmonen

As part of the "Mercedes‑Benz Fashion Talents" programme, Sofia Ilmonen will be presenting her collection in the opening show. The winner of the new "Mercedes‑Benz Sustainability Prize" at the renowned Hyères Festival last October has already attracted attention for her sustainable and inclusive designs. To create her collections, Ilmonen works with fabric modules that can be reassembled and adapted to suit different body shapes. Her show on 14 March at 6:00 p.m. combines elements of a classical catwalk presentation with an installation.
