Stuttgart/Hamburg. Mercedes-Benz and ESL have been driving forward the development of eSports together for two years. Fans of the game Dota 2 can enjoy a new video clip this year at ESL One Hamburg. The Mercedes-Benz EQC (combined electrical consumption: 20.8-19.7 kWh/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 0 g/km)[1], representing the departure into a new era of mobility, will be depicted in close conjunction with mysterious characters from the world of gaming. As they watch the film the viewers become immersed in a world of light and shade in which the game and reality start to intermingle. The video clip can be accessed via the following link.

When the partnership between Mercedes-Benz and the ESL started, the Stuttgart brand established the Mercedes-Benz Most Valuable Player (MVP), a format in which the fans and a jury of experts determine the best player in the tournament via an online poll. At ESL One Hamburg the prize will again be handed over to the MVP by a cosplayer. The MVP can look forward to a new Mercedes‑Benz worth 50,000 euros.

"Two years ago the Mercedes-Benz MVP was created to offer another added value to fans and players", says ESL CEO Ralf Reichert, as the tournament approaches. "The MVP vote has become a firm part of our ESL One tournaments and is a competition highlight for the Dota 2 community. We are proud that we have established this authentic format together with Mercedes-Benz."

Alongside the Mercedes-Benz MVP, the brand with the star has implemented numerous other initiatives within the ESL framework which have received a positive response from the eSports community. The fans have actively experienced in-car gaming, in which they were able to play the "SuperTuxKart" game on the vehicle's display. The game is controlled with the steering wheel and the pedals.

"For us the eSports community is a very exciting target group with a high affinity to future mobility", says Bettina Fetzer, Mercedes-Benz marketing boss. "That's why we are really looking forward to ESL One Hamburg this year, as well as to the fans' enthusiasm and the Mercedes-Benz MVP award."

In addition to the MVP presentation, the Mercedes-Benz stand is another highlight of ESL One Hamburg. Its design features elements from the film and enables visitors to transform themselves into Dota 2 characters through impressive light/shadow installations. There is also the opportunity to play interactive games with and against one another at various gaming stations. As part of ESL One Hamburg there will also be a panel of invited guests from the eSports sector taking part in a talk on the topic of "Professionalisation in eSports".
