The new Mercedes-Benz GLB
« on: November 27, 2019, 01:17:07 PM »
Up to seven seats:

The GLB is the first compact vehicle from Mercedes-Benz to offer a third seat row on request with two additional individual seats. The seats offer people up to a height of 1.68 metres a comfortable amount of space.

Plenty of room in all dimensions:

At 2829 millimetres, the GLB has the longest wheelbase of the current compact-class generation from Mercedes-Benz. Together with the function-oriented greenhouse this is decisive when it comes to the generous amount of space. The headroom in the first seat row is 1069 millimetres – an optimum in this segment. At 967 millimetres, the effective legroom in the rear of the five-seater is at an especially comfortable level.

Distinctive exterior design:

The powerful proportions of the GLB underscore the off-road focus of the design: the surfaces of the forms are emphasised, and reduced lines and precise seams are major features. The upright front section with its striking headlamps is clear evidence of off-road genes, as are the short overhangs at the front and rear.

High-quality interior design:

The instrument panel consists of a single basic volume, which has a cut-out in the driver and front passenger area. The aluminium-look off-road-like tube elements, which form the bottom end of the dashboard, are new. They are also found in the doors and the centre console.

Intuitively operated infotainment system:

The GLB is equipped with MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience). The system features as standard two 7-inch displays for the instrument cluster and media display with touchscreen (optionally: 2 x 10.25-inch), sports steering wheel with Touch Control buttons on the left and right, USB port (Type C), Bluetooth® connection for telephony and audio sources.

Comprehensive comfort:

ENERGIZING comfort control networks various comfort systems in the vehicle and uses lighting and musical moods plus a number of massages for a wide range of feel-good programs. The ENERGIZING COACH recommends these programs according to the situation. If the Mercedes-Benz vivoactive® 3 smartwatch or another compatible Garmin® wearable is linked, personal values such as stress level or sleep quality improve the recommendation.

Driving assistance systems:

Thanks to its camera and radar systems, the GLB is able to see up to 500 metres ahead and drive in semi-automated mode in certain situations. This includes, for example, the convenient speed adjustment ahead of bends, junctions or roundabouts carried out by Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, for which it also uses map and navigation data.

MULTIBEAM LED headlamps:

The optional MULTIBEAM LED headlamps allow quick and precise adjustment of the headlamps to the current road and traffic conditions. With the adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus, the main beam can remain on at all times, In addition, GLB models with 4MATIC all-wheel drive and large media display also have a special off-road light. This makes it easier to see obstacles in rough terrain in the dark.

Engines:

The new GLB places its trust in the four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines which were completely updated to relaunch the compact model series. In comparison to the previous generation, they are characterised by significantly increased power and by improved efficiency and reduced emissions. Thanks to the further expanded emission control system, the two-litre diesel engine (OM 654q) already meets the RDE (Real Driving Emissions) Stage 2 requirements, and is certified to Euro 6d.
