Dining at the Vancouver airport Fairmont
« on: February 19, 2007, 10:12:29 PM »
It was an excellent choice for Valentine's Day. Perhaps it is not as popular for it's remote location; or not many people would think about this unique hide away. Vancouver Airport is typically quiet in the evening. Traffic, parking and crowd would not be a problem. It is a unique experience for most may not think of dining at the airport, especially during Valentine.

After you park at the all-inclusive parking with your dinner. (Valet parking is available as well if you don't feel like walking for 2 minute) You walk into the airport with the feeling that you have the whole airport to yourself. The area was spacious, open. Silent.

Take the escalator up and cross the gangway lined with chandelier to the reception area. Behind, you can already see through the glass wall to the terminals. At which the workings of an airport, and background of the sunset is a feast to your eyes.

The real feast comes later on your dining table. I especially like the crab and corn soup, and the seafood appetizer. The soup was so smooth and creamy. The scallop had just the right spice. The experience was non-rush, and our waitress was entertaining. In all, I will give it an A++.

For short meetings, or just a moment of relaxation. I will return to the bar and lounge area where you'll find many beautiful people possibly from around the world.
