Mercedes-Benz Canada reports record-breaking November sales

Mercedes-Benz Canada reports record-breaking November sales results for its passenger car and pre-owned divisions
TORONTO, ON (December 2, 2014) – Mercedes-Benz Canada and its national dealer network reported today that a record-breaking total of 3,954 Mercedes-Benz passenger cars, vans and smart units were sold in November. This unprecedented performance represented an increase of 25.6% or 807 vehicles pushing overall year-to-date growth to 9.7% or 3,275 additional units, with 37,174 units sold so far in 2014.
Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and luxury light trucks recorded 3,282 units retailed which is ahead by 19.6% compared to November 2013. This helped propel total sales to 31,049 vehicles which represented an increase of 8.2% for the year. Passenger car sales amounted to 1,717 units in November which is attributed to a spike in CLA, CLS, S-Class as well as E-Class Cabriolet and Wagon model sales. The new generation C-Class sedan continued to make significant gains throughout November with 671 units sold.
On the luxury light truck side, Mercedes-Benz reported 1,565 units retailed which is ahead of the number of vehicles sold last year by 56%. This impressive result was fueled by strong demand across the entire SUV range with an exceptionally strong performance by the highly coveted GLA with 253 vehicles sold in November.
The diesel take rate for luxury light trucks was 63.5% for the month, while all-wheel drive 4MATIC™ units accounted for 90.4% of overall passenger car and light truck sales in November (excluding smart).
smart reported a total of 403 vehicles sold in November which amounted to an increase of 144.2% when compared to last year. With 2,345 units delivered this year, smart sales are up 13.1% or 272 units in 2014.
Mercedes-Benz Vans continued to sustain its sales momentum with a total of 269 units delivered throughout the month, which is ahead 13.5%. With a total of 3,780 units retailed in 2014, vans sales were up 20.8% on a year-to-date basis.
The Mercedes-Benz Pre-Owned division reported 1,035 units retailed in November, which represented a third consecutive record-breaking month with an increase of 13% or 119 units. So far in 2014, a total of 13,214 Pre-Owned units have been sold for a year-to-date increase of 7.1% or 873 units.
