Mercedes-Benz Canada reports its best October eve

TORONTO, ON – Mercedes-Benz Canada and its national dealer network today reported that a record-breaking total of 2,865 Mercedes-Benz and smart units were delivered in October. This represents an increase of 16.0% for the month, and pushes year-to-date growth to 4.3% with 26,908 units retailed in 2011.
A total of 2,614 Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and luxury light trucks were delivered throughout the month, which is ahead 18.0% for the month and 2.0% year-to-date. With a total of 1,317 passenger cars and 1,297 luxury light trucks delivered, October sales were up 9.2% and 28.4% respectively for the month.
Strong C-Class, E-Class, CLS-Class, S-Class, GLK-Class, M-Class, R-Class and GL-Class model sales contributed to October’s success. Sales of the C-Class were ahead an impressive 27.0% for the month. Fuelled by sales of the all-new 2012 model, the M-Class reported an exceptional month with a total of 615 units retailed.
The diesel take rate for luxury light trucks was 76.8% for the month, while permanent all-wheel drive 4MATIC™ units accounted for 81.5% of overall passenger car and luxury light truck sales (excluding smart).
smart reported a total of 98 vehicles sold in October. Year-to-date, 1,543 smart fortwos have been delivered to customers across Canada.
A total of 153 Mercedes-Benz Sprinters were delivered for the month. Sprinter sales are ahead 17.7% for the month, and up a notable 80.9% on a year-to-date basis.
Mercedes-Benz Pre-Owned sales reported their best October ever with 1,245 units sold. This represents an increase of 376 units or 43.3% on a monthly basis, and brings year-to-date growth to 26.9% with 11,231 Pre-Owned Mercedes-Benz units retailed so far this year.
"This month we recorded strong overall sales growth for both Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and luxury light trucks, allowing us to continue to surpass previously established sales thresholds and report another record-breaking month for the three-pointed star in Canada," said Tim A. Reuss, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Canada. "We also celebrated additional successes in October by earning two prestigious awards from the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada. The 2012 Mercedes-Benz C 350 4MATIC Sedan was named the Best New Luxury Car, and the Mercedes-Benz S 350 BlueTEC 4MATIC earned the Best New Prestige Car (over $75,000), further substantiating the undeniable appeal of our fascinating vehicles."
