Toronto (October 11, 2006) - Mercedes-Benz Canada is pleased to announce that Automobile Chicoine, the Mercedes-Benz dealership in St-Hyacinthe owned by Mr Sam Eltes, has been acquired by Mr. Luc Duval.
Automobile Chicoine is one of the longest-standing dealers of Mercedes-Benz in Canada; it has been in operation since 1957. Mr. Eltes has successfully owned the St-Hyacinthe operation for the last 12 years but has decided to sell it to allow him and his team to fully focus on the major expansion of his downtown Montreal Mercedes-Benz dealership, which will take place in the coming months.
Mr. Duval has taken over the ownership and operation of the dealership - which will be renamed Duval Mercedes-Benz - effective October 1, 2006. The current facility will eventually relocate to brand new premises near the south shore of Montreal.
Mr. Duval is very well-known and respected in Montreal automotive circles. His company, Groupe Duval, also owns and operates three other import franchises located on the south shore of Montreal.
The Duval family has been involved in the car business since the 1920s; it is one of the oldest dealer groups in Canada. Mr. Duval is a third generation dealer principal who has worked in his family?s automotive operations since his early teens and first headed up a franchise in 1988. Duval Mercedes-Benz will be managed by Luc Duval himself.
