Windshield wipers and anti freeze washing fluid.

-typically the rubber on the wiper blades harden after 2 years of weathering. This cause streaks, smear when wiping. When frozen. Lift it up and tap-off ice before driving. For severe weather locations. Use winter type blades to prevent freezing. They are wrapped in a rubber jacket to resist contact with moisture at the hinges.
-make sure the windhshield washer fluid you use are anti-freeze type.

Check and top your tire pressure regularly.

Air pressure decreases along with temperature. You may have check your tire pressure when install snow tires in the fall. Now at sub-zero temperature. It could drop below safety margin. An under inflated tire will wear excessively, and could be cut or burst when hot a pot-hole.

To reduce freqency of pressure adjust for flutuating temperature. You can inflate with nitrogen. It is available at most reputable shops. Nitrogen is a more stable gas against temperature changes.

When was the last time you had your tires replaces. No matter if it is summer or winter tires. The typical life cycle of any street tires are about 5 years. Once the tire was born, the rubber is destine to get hard, brittle, and loose grip. Even if you put very little mileage on it. The life cycle accelerates once you drive it. The warm temperature it creates when you drive your car; and cooling down when you park. Also know as heat cycle. Will shorten the life span of the tire. Ultraviolet lights accelerates the life cycle of the tire. When you expose your tire to the sun, it will cause the rubber to dry and crack like your skin expose to the sun for long duration.
