Paffett wins DTM finale - Di Resta is the new champion
DTM
Shanghai. Mercedes-Benz had two reasons to celebrate after the DTM finale in the Chinese metropolis of Shanghai: Gary Paffett and Paul Di Resta scored a 1-2 for the brand from Stuttgart in the eleventh round of the season and for the Scot, finishing second behind race winner Paffett was enough to clinch the 2010 DTM championship title. After 49 laps at the 2.465 kilometres long street circuit, Timo Scheider (Audi) finished third. The remaining point-scoring positions were occupied by Martin Tomczyk (Audi), Miguel Molina (Audi), Jamie Green (Mercedes-Benz), Markus Winkelhock (Audi) and David Coulthard (Mercedes-Benz). For former F1 driver Coulthard, eighth place is the best result in his maiden season in the DTM. A full press release with quotes will follow shortly.
