First win of the season for Timo Scheider
DTM
Adria. With his Audi A4 DTM, Timo Scheider won an action-packed tenth season round of the DTM at the Adria International Raceway. Having started from 15th place, the German had a perfect strategy to score his first win of the season. Behind Scheider, the two title candidates Gary Paffett and Bruno Spengler (both Mercedes-Benz) occupied second and third place respectively. Markus Winkelhock (Audi) scored his first points of the season by finishing fourth. Oliver Jarvis, Martin Tomczyk (both Audi), Maro Engel (Mercedes-Benz) and Mattias Ekström (Audi) completed the point-scoring positions in fifth to eighth place. Paul Di Resta (Mercedes-Benz) just failed to score points, he ended up ninth. A full press release with quotes will follow shortly.

Start Spengler takes the lead from Paffett, Ekström, Rockenfeller on the outside.
Lap 1 Green attacks Rockenfeller for third and gets past. Collision Winkelhock and Tomczyk. Di Resta moves up into fourth past Rockenfeller. Di Resta and Rockenfeller tangle. On the main straight, just before the start and finish line, Alexandre Prémat has a massive crash, barrel-rolling his car three times.
Lap 2 Red flag. Alexandre Prémat appears to be all right. Race order: Spengler is leading from Paffett, Green, Ekström, Jarvis, Winkelhock, Scheider, Coulthard, Schumacher.

Lap 3 Green flag. Ekström attacks Green for third.
Lap 5 Scheider attacks Winkelhock for sixth and gets past.
Lap 6 Prémat, Engel, Di Resta and Rockenfeller under investigation. Di Resta attacks Rockenfeller and gets past.
Lap 7 Rain sets in. Di Resta has overtaken Molina and is now 13th.
Lap 9 Engel overtakes Schumacher and is now tenth. Schumacher allows Di Resta through, the Scot is now eleventh.
Lap 11 Molina, Cheng and Schumacher three abreast. Schumacher ends up behind Molina and Cheng.
Lap 12 Ekström closely behind third-placed Green.
Lap 13 Ekström finally gets ahead of Green. Scheider attacks Jarvis for fifth. Jarvis gets past Green, Scheider gets through as well.
Lap 14 Spengler is still leading from Paffett, Ekström, Scheider, Winkelhock, Jarvis, Green, Tomczyk, Coulthard and Engel.
Lap 15 Tomczyk has to take the escape road after a hot battle with Coulthard.
Lap 17 Paffett slightly tangles with Spengler.
Lap 17 Ekström, Green, Molina, Di Resta into the pits. Problem for Ekström during his stop.
Lap 18 Coulthard, Cheng, Rockenfeller, Schumacher into the pits.
Lap 19 Engel, Stoddart into the pits.
Lap 20 Paffett spins, but continues. Dropped back into third place behind Scheider. Jarvis into the pits.
Lap 21 Spengler into the pits.
Lap 22 Paffett, Winkelhock, Ekström into the pits.
Lap 23 Engel overtakes Green for seventh, Di Resta also attacks Green. Legge into the pits.
Lap 24 Di Resta and Molina also gets past Green.
Lap 25 Scheider and Tomczyk still have to make their first pit stop. Engel, Green into the pits.
Lap 26 Cheng into the pits.
Lap 27 Di Resta into the pits.
Lap 28 Jarvis, Coulthard, Rockenfeller, Schumacher, Stoddart into the pits.
Lap 29 Tomczyk, Winkelhock, Molina into the pits.
Lap 30 Spengler into the pits. Tomcyzk remains ahead of Spengler.
Lap 31 Scheider, Tomczyk, Legge into the pits.
Lap 32 Di Resta and Molina tangle on the main straight. Molina goes straight in the first corner with a broken left rear suspension and hits Di Resta. Di Resta spins, continues. Paffett into the pits.
Lap 33 Scheider into the pits. Molina under investigation.
Lap 34 Scheider rejoins in front of Paffett and Spengler. All drivers having made made their two pit stops, Scheider is leading from Paffett, Spengler, Winkelhock, Jarvis, Tomczyk, Engel, Di Resta, Ekström and Coulthard.
Lap 35 Di Resta has massive problems keeping his damaged car on the track as he is under pressure from Ekström.
Lap 37 Ekström gets past Di Resta and is now eighth.
Lap 38 Final lap. Timo Scheider wins, Paffett second, followed by Spengler, Winkelhock, Jarvis, Tomczyk, Engel and Ekström.
