Di Resta and Spengler score a 1-2 for Mercedes-Benz

Oschersleben. Paul Di Resta (Mercedes-Benz) celebrated his second win in a row in the eighth DTM season round at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. After 50 laps at the 3.696 kilometres long track in the region around Magdeburg, he crossed the finish line in first place with his AMG Mercedes C-Class. Bruno Spengler (Mercedes-Benz) completed the 1-2 for the manufacturer from Stuttgart. Mattias Ekström (Audi) secured the final podium slot at Oschersleben by finishing third. In fourth place, Gary Paffett (Mercedes-Benz) only just missed out on a podium finish. The best-placed driver of a 2008-spec car was Mike Rockenfeller (Audi), who ended up fifth ahead of his fellow Audi driver Alexandre Prémat. Jamie Green (Mercedes-Benz) and Martin Tomczyk (Audi) also scored points in seventh and eighth place respectively. A full press release with quotes will follow shortly.

Start Di Resta leads, Spengler and Di Resta side by side through the first corner. Engel spins off.
Lap 1 Molina spins into the gravel trap after contact with Jarvis at turn 2 - retires. Ekström overtakes Tomczyk.
Lap 2 Di Resta leads from Spengler, Rockenfeller, Scheider, Ekström, Tomczyk, Paffett, Green, Winkelhock and Prémat. Scheider and Ekström past Rockenfeller. Cheng out at the triple left.
Lap 3 Winkelhock into the gravel trap.
Lap 4 Winkelhock into the pits - retires.
Lap 7 Paffett attacks Tomczyk for sixth place and gets past coming out of the first corner. Tomczyk briefly off the track, continues.
Lap 9 Race control declares Paffett's overtaking manoeuvre on Tomczyk as irregular - Paffett has to give his position back again to the German.
Lap 11 Paffett keeps the pressure on Tomczyk in the battle for sixth place. Spengler, Prémat into the pits.
Lap 12 Tomczyk, Schumacher, Legge into the pits.
Lap 13 Paffett into the pits.
Lap 14 Paffett rejoins behind Tomczyk. Rockenfeller, Stoddart into the pits Paffett keeps attacking Tomczyk.
Lap 15 Coulthard into the pits.
Lap 16 Paffett finally overtakes Tomczyk coming out of the second corner. Engel into the pits.
Lap 17 Coulthard off the track. Tomczyk loses another place to Prémat. Paffett laps 1.3 seconds faster than Tomczyk.
Lap 19 Green into the pits.
Lap 20 Di Resta, Ekström into the pits.
Lap 21 Di Resta's stop takes six seconds - he rejoins behind Spengler. Scheider, Legge into the pits.
Lap 22 Jarvis is the only driver yet to make his first stop - he comes in at the end of the lap.
Lap 23 All drivers having made one stop, Spengler is leading from Di Resta, Scheider, Ekström, Rockenfeller, Paffett, Green, Prémat, Tomczyk and Schumacher.
Lap 25 Scheider into the pits for his second stop.
Lap 26 Spengler, Prémat into the pits.
Lap 27 Spengler rejoins just behind Scheider following a slightly longer stop than Scheider's. Rockenfeller, Green into the pits.
Lap 28 Tomczyk, Jarvis into the pits. Di Resta briefly off the track, continues.
Lap 29 Engel, Stoddart into the pits.
Lap 30 Coulthard into the pits.
Lap 31 Engel gets a drive through penalty because of speeding in the pit lane.
Lap 32 Ekström, Paffett, Schumacher into the pits.
Lap 33 Di Resta is the only driver still to make his second pit stop. He is first, followed by Scheider, Spengler, Paffett, Rockenfeller. Engel into the pits for his penalty.
Lap 34 Scheider puncture right rear - Spengler overtakes him at the first corner. Di Resta, Scheider into the pits.
Lap 35 Di Resta rejoins ahead of Spengler.
Lap 36 All drivers having completed their pit stops, Di Resta is leading from Spengler, Ekström, Paffett, Rockenfeller, Prémat, Green, Tomczyk, Schumacher and Stoddart.
Lap 39 Paffett keeps Ekström under pressure in the battle for third.
Lap 43 Stoddart briefly off the track, continues.
Lap 45 Jarvis and Engel collide at the first corner in the battle for 13th. Engel comes out in front.
Lap 50 Final lap. Paul Di Resta wins from Spengler, Ekström, Paffett, Rockenfeller, Prémat, Green, Tomczyk, Schumacher, Stoddart.
