Dominant first season win for Paul Di Resta
DTM
Fawkham. With an impressive display, Paul Di Resta (Mercedes-Benz) has won his home round at Brands Hatch (GB). After 98 laps 1.929 kilometres long track, he crossed the finish line with his AMG Mercedes C-Class, 7.4 seconds ahead of his team-mate Bruno Spengler (Mercedes-Benz). Thus, the Brit repeated his victory from last year. Reigning champion Timo Scheider (Audi) completed the podium by finishing third. With a perfect pit stop strategy, Miguel Molina (Audi) made it up from eighth on the grid to finish fourth. Gary Paffett (Mercedes-Benz), Oliver Jarvis (Audi), Martin Tomczyk (Audi) and Alexandre Prémat (Audi) occupied fifth to eighth place in the seventh DTM season round. Start Di Resta takes the lead from Spengler, Scheider, Paffett. Good start from Coulthard. Schumacher and Ekström collide.
Lap 1 Coulthard under investigation.
Lap 2 Tomczyk and Molina tangle in the battle for ninth. Ekström drops back following contact with Schumacher at the start. Then he is hit on he right rear wheel by Susie Stoddart.
Lap 3 Ekström off the track at Graham Hill Bend with a technical problem.
Lap 5 Stoddart under investigation for a collision, Coulthard gets a drive-through for a jump start. Schumacher also under investigation.
Lap 8 Stoddart into the pits and retires with front damage. Di Resta is leading from Spengler, Scheider, Paffett, Schumacher, Jarvis, Prémat, Tomczyk, Molina and Green.
Lap 14 No further action against Schumacher.
Lap 21 Di Resta has a margin of 9.1 seconds over second-placed Spengler.
Lap 24 Pit lane open for mandatory pit stops. Paffett is the first driver to come in. Tomcyzk also into the pits.
Lap 25 Prémat into the pits.
Lap 26 Prémat rejoins just ahead of Di Resta.
Lap 27 Scheider into the pits.
Lap 28 Jarvis into the pits.
Lap 29 Schumacher, Winkelhock into the pits.
Lap 30 Green into the pits. Schumacher briefly off at Paddock Hill Bend.
Lap 31 Spengler, Legge into the pits. Schumacher into the pits again - retires.
Lap 33 Rockenfeller into the pits.
Lap 34 Di Resta into the pits.
Lap 35 Molina, Engel and Cheng are the only drivers yet to make a pit stop.
Lap 38 Engel into the pits.
Lap 40 Coulthard into the pits.
Lap 42 Cheng into the pits.
Lap 44 Molina into the pits.
Lap 45 All drivers having made one pit stop, Di Resta is leading by 13.0 seconds from Spengler, Scheider, Paffett, Jarvis, Tomczyk, Molina, Prémat, Rockenfeller and Green.
