Timo Scheider to start from pole position at Zandvoort

Zandvoort. Reigning champion Timo Scheider (Audi) will be starting from pole position into the sixth DTM season round at Zandvoort in The Netherlands. In qualifying, he claimed the best grid position with his Audi A4 DTM with a lap time of 1:31.590 minutes. For Timo Scheider, it is the eighth pole position in his DTM career. Lining up alongside the German on the front row of the grid on Sunday will be Gary Paffett (Mercedes-Benz) in second place. The Briton came 0.696 seconds short of Scheider’s fastest time. Paul Di Resta (Mercedes-Benz) and Miguel Molina (Audi) will be starting from the second row into the race on Sunday. For Spaniard Molina, who is in his maiden DTM season, this is his best qualifying result to date. Points’ leader Bruno Spengler (Mercedes-Benz) qualified seventh. 13:45 hrs Start of the session, Prémat is the first driver out on the track.
13:48 hrs Rockenfeller tops the time sheet with 1:42.412, but is toppled by Scheider: 1:32.040.
13:49 hrs Bruno Spengler claims second place with 1:32.115.
13:51 hrs Di Resta briefly off the track at Scheivlak, but continues.
13:53 hrs With four minutes remaining, Scheider is leading from Spengler, Di Resta, Paffett, Green, Rockenfeller, Molina, Tomczyk, Prémat and Winkelhock.
13:54 hrs Schumacher moves up into seventh place.
13:55 hrs Winkelhock improves from eleventh to fourth. Prémat moves up from twelfth to first with 1:31.872 minutes.
13:57 hrs Ekström is the last to improve his lap time: he moves up from 15th to fourth.
13:58 hrs End of the session. Prémat remains fastest from Scheider, Spengler, Ekström, Engel, Di Resta, Molina, Jarvis, Winkelhock, Paffett, Green, Rockenfeller, Schumacher and Tomczyk.
13:59 hrs Not qualified for the next heat are Stoddart, Legge, Coulthard and Cheng.
14:04 hrs Start of the second heat. Prémat again is the driver to start the action.
14:07 hrs Prémat off the track at Scheivlak, continues. Paffett on top with 1:31.638.
14:08 hrs Spengler is now leading with 1:31.259, followed by Molina with 1:31.316. Slightly later, Ekström takes over first place with 1:31.221.
14:10 hrs With three minutes remaining, Ekström remains first from Spengler, Molina, Di Resta, Scheider, Paffett, Schumacher and Green.
14:12 hrs Rockenfeller moves up into sixth place with his lap time of 1:31.495.
14:13 hrs Jarvis is now sixth with 1:31.449. Spengler is now first with 1:30.959, Scheider is second with 1:31.158.
14:14 hrs End of the session. Spengler remains fastest from Scheider, Ekström, Molina, Di Resta, Paffett, Jarvis and Schumacher.

14:23 hrs In Q2, Rockenfeller was too fast in the pitlane. He was given a 1,100 Euros fine.
14:25 hrs Molina is the first driver to post a lap time: 1:31.242, but he is soon toppled by Gary Paffett, who sets a 1:31.053. Then Di Resta moves up into second pace with 1:31.138.
