2012 DTM schedule - the start of a new era

DTM

In 2012, the DTM will already be taking on its 13th season since its restart in the year 2000. With BMW, the third German premium car manufacturer is making its comeback in the most popular international touring car series and will thus be competing against Audi and Mercedes-Benz. The race schedule for the 2012 DTM season again includes ten DTM rounds and one show event.

Traditionally, the 2012 DTM season gets underway at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg on 29th April. Moreover, the international series has another five rounds in Germany: at the Lausitzring (6th May), the Norisring in Nuremberg (1st July), the Nürburgring in the Eifel region (19th August), the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben (16th September) and the finale at Hockenheim (21st October). As a special highlight, DTM fans can again look forward to the show event in the Munich Olympiastadion on 14th and 15th July. Next to the German events, four rounds will take place in other countries. On 20th May, the DTM will be racing at Brands Hatch/GB. A fortnight later (3rd June), the drivers will be competing for points at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria. Rounds at Zandvoort in the Netherlands (26th August) and Valencia in Spain (30th September) round out the schedule.
