2009 DTM Launch again will be held in D?sseldorf

Wiesbaden/D?sseldorf ? for the fourth time, DTM will hold its launch ? the official season kick-off ? in North Rhine-Westphalia?s capital D?sseldorf. On Sunday, 19th April, 2009, the most popular international touring-car series will present itself to the public at D?sseldorf?s exclusive ?K?nigsallee?. ?In the past three years, the DTM Launch in the sports city of D?sseldorf always proved to be a highlight on the DTM calendar,? underlines Hans Werner Aufrecht, the Chairman of DTM promoter and rights holder ITR e.V. ?We will give our very best to again provide the crowds a unique experience featuring an informal atmosphere.? D?sseldorf?s Lord Mayor, Dirk Elbers, also looks forward to the event in his hometown. ?On this day, the motor-racing world will focus on D?sseldorf. The state capital again will present itself as good host, during the fourth edition of the DTM show at the ?K??.?

For four years now, DTM successfully cooperated with the ?sportAgentur D?sseldorf? as the event?s organiser and following the long off-season, the DTM enthusiasts again will be provided a variegated and diversified programme representing a foretaste of the thrilling 2009 season. From 13.00 to 18.00hrs, the visitors will have the chance of seeing and meeting all the DTM aces such as reigning champion Timo Scheider (Audi), girl-racer Susie Stoddart (Mercedes-Benz), eight-time Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen (Audi) or Mercedes-Benz driver Ralf Schumacher during interviews, autographing sessions and Meet&Greets in the open paddock ? while the circuit erected specially for the event again will offer them the opportunity to witness motor-racing action at close range. In addition to spectacular demonstration runs of the DTM vehicles, the programme also comprises pit-stop competitions, stunt shows and the legendary grid presentation. The cars of the support series ? Formula 3 Euro Series, ADAC Volkswagen Polo Cup, Porsche Carrera Cup and Seat Leon Supercopa ? also will be on site and add to the motor-racing atmosphere.

In 2008, more than 200,000 motor-racing enthusiasts travelled to D?sseldorf to witness the motor-racers and their cars at close range ? and were truly inspired. Just as it was the case in the past, the admission to the DTM Launch will be free. All the information on the event is available at DTM?s official website, www.dtm.com, and at www.sportstadt-duesseldorf.de.
