Wurz focused on Le Mans return

Alexander Wurz says that returning to the Le Mans 24 Hours is his top priority following his retirement from Formula One this year.

The Austrian, who won at Le Mans in 1996, retired from racing in F1 prior to the Brazilian Grand Prix, and at the time he hinted that he was interested in returning to sportscars.

Wurz has been linked to several projects since he announced his decision to stop racing in F1, but he has singled out Le Mans as his favoured option.

"I always said that after F1 I would want to go back to Le Mans," Wurz told autosport.com. "It's a dream race for me.

"I have a connection with it, and like Peter Sauber, during my time in F1 I always followed it, even on a Grand Prix weekend."

The 33-year-old added that he would only return with a squad capable of winning the race, and he believes that more manufacturers could be joining Audi and Peugeot in the near future.

"I'm looking at the sportscar scene for the next three to four years, to see what's going to happen in that time frame," he said.

"I think there are two more manufacturers that are seriously looking at it, and I'm looking at what my options could be."
