Timo Scheider on pole position for the third time in a row
Mugello. In qualifying for the third DTM season round at Mugello, Timo Scheider claimed
his third pole of the season. In the final seconds, he set the fastest lap time with his Audi
A4 DTM. On his fastest lap, the 29-year old drove around the 5.245 kilometres long
circuit in Tuscany in 1.43.079 minutes. For Scheider, it is the fifth pole of his DTM career
while an Audi A4 DTM is first on the starting grid for the eighth time in a row. Lining up
alongside Scheider on the front row of the grid for Sunday?s race will be Mercedes-Benz
driver, Jamie Green. With Tom Kristensen and Mattias Ekstr?m, two more Audi drivers
are on the second row while Paul di Resta and Bruno Spengler qualified fifth and sixth
respectively with their AMG Mercedes C-Classes. Markus Winkelhock (Audi) was the best
driver with a year-old car in qualifying at Mugello in eighth place behind DTM record
champion Bernd Schneider (Mercedes-Benz). The ARD will be broadcasting the Mugello
race live on Sunday from 13.45 h.
Qualifying in detail

13:30 hrs Ralf Schumacher is the first driver out on the track in the first session of
14 minutes, after which the 14 fastest drivers will move up.
13:32 hrs Timo Scheider tops the time sheets with a lap time of 1.43.833.
13:33 hrs Tom Kristensen moves up into first place with 1.43.569.
13:35 hrs Markus Winkelhock, who was fastest here in pre-season testing at Mugello,
is currently third with 1.43.891.
13:35 hrs Jamie Green is now the best-placed Mercedes-Benz driver in second place
with a lap time of 1.43.758.
13:36 hrs With six minutes left, Paul di Resta is the only driver who still has to set a
lap time at the 5.245 kilometres long circuit.
13:37 hrs Di Resta moves up into eleventh place with 1.44.331.
13:38 hrs Ralf Schumacher improves from 15th to 13th place and provisionally
pushes Albers out of the second heat.
13:38 hrs With 3.30 minutes to go, it is still Kristensen in the lead from Green,
Scheider, Winkelhock, Pr?mat, Jarvis, Tomczyk, Ekstr?m, Schneider and
Rockenfeller.
13:40 hrs At the moment, Albers, Paffett, Legge, Stoddart and Lauda would be out of
the second heat.
13:41 hrs Paffett moves uyp from 16th to 15th.
