"Partnerships are an important part of our Consumer Card strategy and we are excited to welcome Mercedes-Benz to our growing family of co-branded cards and to our Membership Rewards program,” said Gunther Bright, senior vice president and general manager, co-brand partnerships, American Express.  “This truly is a world-class collaboration.  We’re offering Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts what they value most – premium rewards that benefit their lifestyle and their vehicle.”
“The Cards we have created with American Express are a result of driver feedback focusing on benefits geared toward the Mercedes-Benz enthusiast and lifestyle rewards,” said Geoff Robinson, vice president, marketing, Mercedes-Benz Financial Services. “Becoming a Cardmember will expand the ownership experience for our current drivers and encourage aspiring owners to consider Mercedes-Benz for their next vehicle.”
Mercedes-Benz Joins Membership Rewards Program
Mercedes-Benz also joins the Membership Rewards program from American Express.  All Cardmembers eligible to earn Membership Rewards points can redeem points for Mercedes-Benz service packages as well as $1,000 certificates that can be used for the purchase or lease of a new Mercedes-Benz vehicle.
While most co-branded Cards in the automotive space offer benefits at the dealership for products and services related to the cardholder’s vehicle, the Membership Rewards program from American Express sets these new Mercedes-Benz co-brand Cards apart from the competition.   Cardmembers can earn and redeem points for premium rewards that they can use to travel, shop and now service or purchase a Mercedes-Benz vehicle.
Cardmembers are automatically enrolled in the Membership Rewards program and can redeem points for a breadth of rewards including: vacations, tickets to concerts, the latest gadgets and gift cards to many of their favorite stores. Cardmembers have the option to transfer points directly into many airline frequent-flier programs for award seats or use the Pay with Points feature to book any seat, anytime, on any airline with no blackout dates or other restrictions. Points have no expiration date, and there is no limit on the number of points a Cardmember can earn.
