Extension of contract of Bodo Uebber until December 31, 2014

In its meeting today, the Supervisory Board of Daimler AG appointed Dr. Christine Hohmann-Dennhardt as a member of the Board of Management in the newly created position with responsibility for Integrity and Legal Affairs for the period of February 16, 2011 until February 28, 2014. Her responsibilities will include the global compliance and legal organization, business ethics and the continued sustained anchoring of integrity and compliance throughout the entire company. The Supervisory Board has thus expanded the Board of Management to seven members, as previously announced on September 28, 2010.
In the same meeting, the Supervisory Board also extended the contract of service of Bodo Uebber, member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG responsible for Finance & Controlling and Daimler Financial Services, until December 31, 2014.
“Daimler strives to set the highest standards for compliance and integrity. The career of Dr. Hohmann-Dennhardt both as a judge and in positions with political responsibility is a good example of personal integrity and outstanding competence. This background and her leadership experience in other areas of society will enable her to make a significant contribution to help us achieve our goals. We are also extremely pleased that we can continue the excellent cooperation with Bodo Uebber,” stated Dr. Manfred Bischoff, Chairman of Daimler’s Supervisory Board.
Dr. Christine Hohmann-Dennhardt, born on April 30, 1950 in Leipzig, was a judge of the First Senate of the Federal Constitutional Court from January 1999 until February 2011. She was Hesse Minister of Science and the Arts from 1995 until 1999, and Hesse Minister of Justice from 1991 until 1995. Before that, she was director of the social court in Wiesbaden as well as a judge at the Social Courts of Frankfurt am Main, Wiesbaden and at the District Social Court in Darmstadt. She gained a doctorate in law at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt.
The Supervisory Board has extended the contract of Bodo Uebber until December 31, 2014. Bodo Uebber has been a member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG since December 16, 2003, and in this function has been responsible for Finance and Controlling and the Daimler Financial Services division since December 16, 2004. He is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS N.V.).
Bodo Uebber’s contract would have expired in December 2011. Pursuant to Section 84 Subsection 1 of the German Stock Corporation Act (AktG), the Supervisory Board passes a resolution on a reappointment to the Board of Management after the beginning of the last year of a member’s current period of office. The extension for three years as of January 1, 2012 is in line with Daimler’s policy of concluding contracts of service with the Board of Management members for periods of three years; this applies to initial appointments as well as reappointments.
