Mercedes-Benz Canada announced today that it will continue to offer extremely competitive pricing and exceptional value for every 2011 model in the company’s fascinating product portfolio. Mercedes-Benz Canada will keep model pricing in-line with its current, aggressive pricing strategy, and in some cases has lowered pricing or added additional no-charge equipment for the 2011 model year.
The smart fortwo offers numerous updates and enhancements for the 2011 model year that further distinguish the fortwo’s unique appearance while also providing a more luxurious and refined appeal with a total of 26 new standard and optional features. The significant enhancements to current equipment includes a new knee airbag, new window airbag and one-handed tailgate operation on coupe models, new gauge cluster design, and new storage pockets on seatback sides.
In addition, the interior of the new generation smart fortwo has been completely redesigned, offering a fresh and spacious atmosphere for both the driver and passenger. The full fabric-covered instrument panel features new, harmonious styling and updated fabric and colour designs for the cockpit, door centre panel and seats.
Cutting edge communication and entertainment systems are now also available for the new generation smart fortwo. The new audio system navigation multimedia features a large 6.5” display, an integrated navigation system and Bluetooth hands-free system. The touchscreen display enables intuitive and convenient operation of all functions of the radio, CD/DVD player, Bluetooth hands-free system and navigation. In addition, music, videos or pictures can be fed to the system via the SD card slot, and the audio system navigation multimedia also has a USB and AUX port.
Despite the myriad of additional equipment and improvements, pricing has been reduced for all models, offering unmatched value for a vehicle that has been recognized as a hallmark for fun, fuel-efficiency and safety in its class since it was introduced in Canada. For 2011, the pure coupe starts from $13,990, the passion coupe starts at $17,500, the passion cabriolet starts from $20,500, the BRABUS coupe starts at $20,900, and the BRABUS cabriolet is priced from $23,900.
The 2011 Mercedes-Benz B200 continues to be priced from $29,900, and B200 TURBO pricing also remains consistent with 2010 levels and starts from $32,400. For the new model year, both the B200 and B200 TURBO are available with an optional AVANTGARDE Edition package that offers exceptional value by including additional equipment such as heated front seats, AUTOTRONIC automatic transmission, media interface, and 17” 5-twin spoke wheels. The B200 TURBO AVANTGARDE Edition includes everything from the B200 package, and also adds 17” 5-spoke Bi-Colour wheels, power adjustable driver and front passenger seats and the Panoramic Lamella sunroof.
The 2011 C-Class now features LED Daytime Running Lamps to further enhance its already sporty and aggressive appearance for the new model year. These new LED lamps are included in the Sport Package on the C250 and C250 4MATIC, and standard on the C300, C300 4MATIC, C350 and C350 4MATIC. In addition, Media Interface has been added to the COMMAND Navigation Package for all C250 and C300 models, and Media Interface and the Rear View Camera have been added to the Premium Package for the C350, C350 4MATIC and C63 AMG. The Mercedes-Benz C250 starts from $35,900 for the rear wheel drive version and $39,900 for the C250 4MATIC. The C300 starts from $41,600, and the C300 4MATIC starts from $44,900. At the top-of-the-line, the C350 will be priced from $48,600 for the rear wheel drive version and $50,600 for the C350 4MATIC, and the exhilarating C63 AMG starts from $63,900.
The highly desirable E-Class family continued to expand in 2011 with the addition of the E350 BlueTEC Sedan and the E350 4MATIC Wagon.
The E350 BlueTEC is powered by the responsive and fuel efficient 3.0 litre V6 clean diesel engine that produces 210 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque, and the E350 Wagon is powered by a 3.5 litre V6 engine that produces 268 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Both vehicles set benchmarks in their respective categories by offering an extensive list of standard features and a myriad of active and passive safety systems. For the 2011 model year, the E-Class Technology Package has been replaced by the Driving Assistance Package, which includes Blind Spot Assist and Lane Keeping Assist. In addition, a new Advanced Driving Assistance Package is also available that includes DISTRONIC PLUS, Active Blind Spot Assist, and Active Lane Keeping Assist.
The E350 4MATIC Sedan now features a standard sliding glass sunroof, and the Panorama Roof and Media Interface have been added to the Premium Package. The E550 4MATIC Sedan also adds new standard equipment including a sliding glass sunroof, heated 4-spoke steering wheel, and new 18” twin 5-spoke AMG wheels. In addition, the Panorama Roof now becomes part of the Premium Package for the E550 4MATIC.
The powerful E63 AMG Sedan now boasts a new ARTICO stitched leather dashboard, luxurious Nappa leather seating surfaces, and 19” Forged AMG Twin 5-spoke wheels as standard equipment. In addition, the AMG Performance Package for the E63 AMG is further enhanced by including red brake calipers with AMG lettering in black. Despite the additional standard equipment, pricing for the 2011 E350 4MATIC Sedan, E550 4MATIC Sedan and E63 AMG Sedan all remain consistent with 2010 levels and start from $62,900, $73,200 and $106,900 respectively. Pricing for the E350 BlueTEC Sedan starts from $62,500, while the all-new E350 4MATIC Wagon is priced from $66,900.
The unmistakable E-Class Coupe adds additional standard equipment and styling enhancements for the 2011 model year. The aggressive AMG Body Styling and 18” wheel have been made standard equipment on the E350 Coupe, and Media Interface is now included as part of the Premium Package. In addition, the AMG Sport Package is now standard equipment on every E550 Coupe. This adds standard 18” AMG twin 6-spoke wheels, AMG Sport steering wheel, and aluminium studded pedals to the already impressive list of standard equipment for the E550. In addition, new 18” AMG twin 5-spoke wheels are also available as a no-charge option. Despite the added value, the E-Class Coupe models enter the 2011 model year with only a slight increase in price. The 2011 E350 starts from $59,900, and the powerful E550 starts from $69,900.
The striking new E-Class Cabriolet is the other exciting addition that completes the all-new E-Class family for the 2011 model year. This four seasons, four seater Cabriolet features a gorgeous design and a host of advanced technologies including a further developed AIRSCARF neck-level heating system and the world's first AIRCAP air deflector that significantly reduces wind turbulence inside the luxuriously appointed cabin. Inside, standard class leading interior appointments include: 10-way power front seats with memory function, PRE-SAFE, SIRIUS Satellite Radio, and a COMAND screen with 7” high-resolution display and COMAND controller. Despite class-leading interior appointments and generous levels of standard equipment including AMG Body styling, the Dynamic Handling Package and intelligent technical innovations, the 268 horsepower E350 Cabriolet starts from $67,900 and the 382 horsepower E550 Cabriolet starts at $77,500.
With enhancements to the already opulent levels of standard equipment on all models, the S-Class continues to be the indisputable volume leader in the high-end luxury category for the 2011 model year. For example, KEYLESS GO and Electronic Trunk Closure are now standard on all models, and there have been additional features added to the Premium and Performance Packages on specific S-Class models.
The Premium Package on the S400 Hybrid and S550 4MATIC now includes the Panoramic Sunroof, and new 20” AMG wheels are now optional for both models when equipped with the AMG Sport Package.
For 2011, the S63 AMG features the all-new AMG 5.5-litre Biturbo V8, which is the most powerful standard-fit V8 biturbo in the world. Compared to the outgoing engine, the new 5.5-litre powerplant offers increased power, better fuel consumption and reduced emissions attributable to direct injection, turbo-charging, start-stop technology and reduced displacement. This impressive powerplant is managed by the revolutionary AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sport transmission. Engineered in-house by AMG, this transmission offers 5 different shift modes and the best of both worlds with the sporty, direct and agile response of a manual transmission and the convenience of an automatic. The S63 AMG also offers an optional AMG Performance Package that enhances the already exemplary level of performance with AMG 20” 5-twin spoke forged wheels, AMG interior Carbon-Fibre trim, electronic speed limited deletion, 27 additional horsepower and 74 additional lb-ft of torque. An optional Advanced Driving Assistance Package (standard on the S600 and S65 AMG models) includes the sophisticated Active Blind Spot Assist and Active Lane Keeping Assist systems, and a new Bang & Olufsen Performance Sound System is standard on the flagship S65 AMG and available as an option on every other S-Class models. This new system offers crystal clear, concert quality sound with 15 loudspeakers and two amplifiers that deliver a total output of 1,200 watts. Pricing for the S400 HYBRID starts from $107,800, the S450 4MATIC starts from $108,000, the S550 4MATIC starts from $123,500, the S600 is priced from $189,000, the sporty S63 AMG begins at $151,500, and the base price for the flagship S65 AMG starts from $236,000.
The CL-Class enters the 2011 model year with a more dynamic exterior design, and more powerful turbo-charged direct injection engines for the CL550 4MATIC and CL63 AMG that offer improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. The CL550 4MATIC and CL600 now feature an even more refined exterior appearance with the AMG Sport Package now standard on both models. Enhancements to the standard equipment for all models include the addition of PARKTRONIC with Parking Guidance, ATTENTION ASSIST, Adaptive Highbeam Assist and KEYLESS GO. A new Advanced Driving Assistance Package that includes the sophisticated Active Blind Spot Assist and Active Lane Keeping Assist systems, is optional on the CL550 4MATIC and CL63 AMG and standard on the CL600 and CL65 AMG. Despite the numerous enhancements from the outgoing model, the CL-Class enters the new model year with only slight increases to each model. The 2011 CL550 4MATIC starts from $135,900, the CL600 starts from $195,200, and the breathtaking AMG models are $162,000 and $243,000 respectively for the CL63 AMG and the CL65 AMG.
The 2011 CLS-Class enters the final year for the current generation body style and keeps pricing consistent with the previous model year despite adding significant additional standard equipment including standard premium package for both models. The CLS550 AVANTGARDE Edition includes Multicontour driver and front passenger seats, rear window sunshade, electric trunk closure, heated rear seats and KEYLESS-GO. In addition, the CLS550 AVANTGARDE Edition also comes with Climate Control front seats and 19” AMG triple 5-spoke wheels. The CLS63 AMG includes all CLS550 AVANTGARDE Edition content, and also adds tire pressure monitoring, AMG Limited-Slip Differential, AMG Performance Steering Wheel, and 19” AMG forged wheels with performance tires. The 2011 CLS550 remains priced from $88,500, and the powerful CLS63 AMG starts at $121,300.
The 2011 model year is also the final year for the current generation SLK-Class. Analogous to the B-Class and CLS-Class, the SLK-Class now offers a myriad of features as standard equipment in a special AVANTGARDE Edition for the SLK300 and SLK350.
The SLK300 features standard Glass Wind Screen, AIRSCARF, heated front seats, Media Interface, new 17” 5-Twin Spoke wheels, black roof liner, trunk mounted AMG lip spoiler, instrument cluster with red needles, carbon optic interior trim and smoked headlamp surrounds. The special AVANTGARDE Edition for the SLK350 also adds power seats with memory package and power steering column, heated steering wheel, Harman / kardon LOGIC7 Surround Sound System and SIRIUS Satellite & High Definition radio. Pricing for the SLK300 starts from $59,900, the SLK350 is priced from $66,500.
For 2011, the SL-Class roadster is offering a special SL550 Night Edition that is limited to 20 units in Canada. The distinctive, Night Edition package includes exclusive designo MAGNO matte Black Paintwork, ‘Night Edition’ Nappa leather interior, Bi-Colour 19” 5-Spoke AMG Wheels, climate comfort front seats, AIRSCARF, Panoramic glass roof, electronic trunk closure, KEYLESS GO, and dark ash wood trim. The 2011 SL550 starts from $126,000, the SL600 from $176,300, and on the AMG side the SL63 AMG starts at $152,600 and the SL65 AMG is priced from $240,100.
The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is a flagship new edition to the Mercedes-Benz family for 2011, and this pure bred sports car draws inspiration from classic models while offering the ideal synthesis of the strengths of the Mercedes-Benz and AMG brands. This “Gullwing” model dazzles with its purist design, intelligent lightweight construction and exceptional handling dynamics. Powered by a front-mid-mounted 6.3-litre V8 engine that develops 563 hp and 479 lb-ft torque, the SLS AMG delivers awesome performance while still providing the comfort, luxurious appointments and advanced safety features expected of a vehicle that displays the three-pointed star. The SLS AMG starts from $198,000, and offers a vast array of individualization options to suit all tastes and preferences.
For 2011, the GLK350 4MATIC further enhances its already exemplary levels of safety with a revised pelvic airbag design and new knee airbag. In addition, a new optional AMG Sport Package includes the aggressive AMG exterior styling, steering wheel shift paddles, 20-inch AMG twin 5-spoke wheels, active Bi-Xenon Headlamps with Cornering function, LED daytime running lights and headlamp washers. Other updates consist of a revised premium package that now includes the Panorama sunroof, and an updated COMAND Navigation package that adds Media Interface. For 2011, the base price of the GLK350 4MATIC starts from $43,500.
In its last year of production for the current body style, the ML-Class will offer exceptional value for each model and special run-out measures including the power-dome hood as standard equipment on most ML-Class models.
The 2011 ML350 4MATIC and ML350 4MATIC BlueTEC feature new standard LED daytime running lights, and an AVANTGARDE Package that offers outstanding value by including PARKTRONIC, a power adjustable passenger seat, memory package with power steering column, exterior power folding mirrors, COMAND APS with HDD Navigation and DVD Changer, heated rear seats, EASY-PACK power tailgate, rear view camera, Blind Spot Assist, Media interface, KEYLESS GO, exterior Sports Package, 115v power socket, and 20” twin 5-spoke wheels.
The AVANTGARDE package for the ML550 4MATIC includes the extensive list of features from the ML350 4MATIC AVANTGARDE Edition, and also adds Climate Comfort front seats, Multicontour seats for the driver and front passenger and a trailer hitch.
For added exclusivity, a special Grand Edition package will also be available for the ML350 4MATIC, ML350 BlueTEC 4MATIC, and ML550 4MATIC models that offers the choice of either Chromite Black or Diamond White paint and features unique black ARTICO leather with contrast stitching, luxury front headrests and ambient lighting package, ARTICO leather dashboard, black headliner, 20” 10-spoke bi-colour wheels, dark tinted headlights and taillights, AMG grille, AMG steering wheel with shift paddles, 3D gauge cluster, sport pedals, stainless steel sill plates and “Grand Edition” floor mats.
The Grand Edition package for the ML550 4MATIC also adds black leather seats with contrast stitching and porcelain piping, climate comfort Multicontour seats for the driver and front passenger and a trailer hitch. Across the entire model range pricing has been kept consistent with the previous model year. The ML350 4MATIC starts from $57,400, the fuel efficient ML350 BlueTEC 4MATIC starts from $58,900, the ML550 4MATIC starts at $69,700, and pricing for the thrilling ML63 AMG 4MATIC starts from $97,500.
The 2011 R-Class offers the versatility of the previous generation while featuring an aggressive facelift with a completely redesigned front section and refreshed rear section. The vehicle's hood, fenders, grille and surround, headlamps and bumpers with chrome underguard have all been completely redesigned. In addition, integrated LED daytime driving lights and bi-xenon headlamps are now standard. The vehicle’s side view is characterized by modified exterior mirror housings and a new wheel design. The rear section also presents new bumper cladding, modified tail lights with LED technology, a diffuser and integrated tailpipe trim which emphasizes the width with a more horizontal structure. An optional new Sport Package includes the Adaptive Damping system, AIRMATIC Air Suspension, Blue-Tinted front glass and 20” 5-spoke AMG wheels. The Premium Package also features additional equipment with Blind Spot Monitoring and Media Interface now included as part of the package. The 2011 R350 4MATIC and R350 BlueTEC 4MATIC base prices start from $55,200 and $56,700 respectively.
The GL-Class models have a new exterior mirror design for 2011, and the Blind Spot Monitoring system is now available on all models. The GL350 BlueTEC 4MATIC now features standard active Bi-Xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lights and 20” twin 5-spoke wheels. The GL350 BlueTEC Premium Package now includes Blind Spot Monitoring, Media Interface and KEYLESS GO, and a new Sport Package offers the Adaptive Damping System, 21” 5-spoke AMG wheels and front and rear fender flares. In addition, Blind Spot Monitoring is added to the Premium Package for both the GL450 4MATIC and GL550 4MATIC. The GL350 BlueTEC 4MATIC starts from $70,500, the GL450 4MATIC starts at $79,900, and the GL550 4MATIC starts at $88,900.
