Timo Scheider claims pole position for German finale

Hockenheim. Timo Scheider (Audi) will be on pole position for the German finale of the DTM. In qualifying for the ninth DTM season round at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg, the German secured himself the best starting grid position for the race on Sunday with a lap time of 1:37.399 minutes. For Scheider, it is the second pole position of the season. He had already been first on the grid for the race at Zandvoort in The Netherlands. His fellow Audi driver Mike Rockenfeller will be lining up alongside Scheider on the front row of the grid. Behind the two Audi drivers, Gary Paffett (Mercedes-Benz) will be starting from third place. His team-mate Paul Di Resta (Mercedes-Benz) will be fifth on the grid behind Alexandre Prémat (Audi). 13.45 hrs      Start of qualifying. All drivers waiting at the end of the pit lane, eager to get at least one fast lap time in before the rain sets in.
13.48 hrs      First lap times: Rockenfeller 1:39.490, Prémat 1:40.047, Di Resta 1:40.916.
13.51 hrs      Jarvis improves from fifth to fourth.
13.52 hrs      With four minutes remaining, Stoddart, Coulthard, Ekström and Cheng are outside the top 14.
13.53 hrs      Paffett improves from fourth to second: 1:39.675.
13.55 hrs      Molina off the track in the Motodrom section, continues.
13.56 hrs      Ekström improves from 17th to 14th, Legge now outside the top 14.
13.58 hrs      Coulthard improves from 16th to 14th, toppling Ekström.
13.59 hrs      End of the session. Ekström, Legge, Stoddart and Cheng not qualified for Q2. Rockenfeller remains fastest from Paffett, Scheider, Di Resta, Prémat, Winkelhock, Tomczyk, Green, Molina and Spengler.
14.04 hrs      Start of Q2, Winkelhock is the first driver on the track.
14.07 hrs      Winkelhock off the track into the run-off area, continues. Rockenfeller sets the first lap time: 1:39.062.
14.09 hrs      Schumacher improves from eleventh to seventh. Rockenfeller improves his own fastest lap time to 1:38.806.
14.10 hrs      Paffett into second place: 1:38.932, Winkelhock is now third with 1:39.302.
14.13 hrs      Tomczyk improves from 14th to seventh. End of the session.
14.14 hrs      Timo Scheider sets the fastest lap time: 1:38.686. Green improves to seventh, topples Di Resta. Molina from tenth to second. Di Resta improves from eleventh to sixth.
14.15 hrs      Scheider remains fastest from Molina, Rockenfeller, Paffett, Prémat, Di Resta, Winkelhock, Tomczyk. Not qualified for Q3 are Jarvis, Green, Spengler, Engel, Schumacher, Coulthard.
14.20 hrs      Start of the next heat. Mike Rockenfeller is the first driver on the track.
14.23 hrs      Rockenfeller sets a lap time of 1:38.005.
14.25 hrs      Prémat is second, followed by Scheider, Di Resta.
14.26 hrs      Paffett moves up into third.
14.27 hrs      End of the session. Rockenfeller remains fastest from Prémat, Paffett and Scheider. Not qualified for Q4 are Di Resta, Tomczyk, Winkelhock and Molina. Molina is off the track coming into the Motodrom, stuck in the gravel trap.
