The 2009 DTM Launch show programme

DTM

Just eleven more days to go, then, the new DTM season will be kicked-off with the season launch in the sports city of D?sseldorf. The event held at the exclusive K?nigsallee on 19th April will be hosted by Nazan Eckes and Claus Lufen. ARD sports commentator Lufen and the presenter of RTL shows such as ?Punkt 12? and ?Explosiv Weekend? will present the entertaining and varied programme from 13:00 to 18:00hrs CEST (12:00 to 17:00hrs BST).

The opening act will be a German beat and rock band that was one of the most successful bands of its genre, in the 1960s and early 1970s, and made a major impact on the German rock music: The Rattles who toured with the likes of Little Richard and the Rolling Stones, in their heyday. From 12:00hrs, the rockers will put the DTM-Launch visitors in D?sseldorf in the right mood for the things to come.

Apart from spectacular demonstration runs, the stunt shows and the legendary starting-grid presentation, the live concert of the Irish-German band Reamonn, beginning at 13:15hrs, will represent an additional highlight of the DTM Launch. For ten years, now, the artists have been leaving their mark on the international pop world.  With their five albums published to date ? that all made it to the top ten in the German charts - and songs such as ?Supergirl? or ?Serpentine?, the band around its Irish lead singer Rea Garvey succeeded in capturing the hearts of the fans. Their latest single, ?Million Miles?, currently holds 25th position in the German single charts.

In 2008, more than 200,000 visitors travelled to D?sseldorf for the event, to get very close to the motor racers and their cars ? and were truly inspired. Just as it was the case in the past, the admission to the DTM Season Launch will be free. All the information on the event can be found in the World Wide Web at the official DTM website, www.dtm.com, and at www.sportstadt-duesseldorf.de
