W124 3.2L Supercharger Project details

(1/1)

Blown_M104:
Hello, I new to the Star Lounge and would like to start by sharing some details of my W124 supercharger project.

Almost 2 years ago I started working on a forced induction project for my 1993 3.2L 300E. The project started as a very simple non-intercooled blower setup with stock injectors. Over the past 24 months I've added a piggyback ECU, larger injectors, exhaust system, a front mount intercooler and slowly turned up the boost. Today I think I'm 'done' (at least for now).

Final Bill of Materials:
? Rotrex CP34-90 Supercharger (www.w2wpowertrain.com)
? NGK BCP7ES Spark Plugs
? Apexi Piggyback ECU (www.apexi-usa.com)
? Bosch 280 150 945 injectors (310cc)
? Reticulate type Blow-off Valve
? Front Mount Intercooler (3.5? x 6.5? x 27?) and piping
? Supercharger Oil Cooler /Tank
? Water / Methanol Injection
? Air filter/ Belts/ Hoses/ Pipe/ Clamps
? Misc. Steel / bolts/ hardware

The entire system was custom built in my shop with just a few basic shop tools (drill press, cutoff saw, grinder, etc.) No welding, CNC or lathe work required just some patience.

Anyone interested can view the latest stages of the project at:

The car is a blast to drive.  I have over 25,000 miles on it with the blower without any major issues.  Idle is fine and no knocking.  I get about 20 mpg on the highway and have passed US smog test the past 2 years.  Transmission and driveline have held together pretty well under all this power.  You never know though... something could 'pop' tomarrow.
Suspension is stock.
I'm in the middle of the brakes project now... look for some calipers off  a 99-2001 SL500/600.  The current brakes just don't do what I need.

fasteddy:
You'll find the brakes to be night and day. Try to get all four when possible. Reduce nose dive. You'll need more traction to really deliver the power. Its no fun to be ginger on the throttle. Get a LSD from a 16V or something. Quaife have one that I heard works real well for a few more $$.

very nice..
i love it.
how much HP it puts out?is there a big difrence in the performance?
you may need some larger rims and some body kit then your ready to roll.
