Mercedes-Benz Canada reported the best November in its history today with a total of 2,240 Mercedes-Benz and smart combined units registered for the month. This is up 424 units or 23.3% compared to November 2008, and brings year-to-date growth to 11.3% for the group.
With a total of 2,071 Mercedes-Benz vehicles delivered throughout November, the
Mercedes-Benz brand also reported its best November ever and eleven uninterrupted months of double-digit sales growth so far this year. This month?s sales results represent a gain of 432 units or 26.4% compared to November 2008, and propel overall growth to 19.6% with 22,457 vehicles retailed year-to-date.
smart reported a total of 169 smart fortwos sold throughout the month. Year-to-date, smart has retailed 2,441 units.
Strong C-Class, E-Class Sedan, E-Class Coupe, S-Class, GLK-Class, M-Class and GL-Class model sales contributed to November?s success. Sales of the spacious R-Class and the luxurious GL-Class both remained strong and showed a gain of 37.1% and 34.0% respectively for the month. In addition, the all-new E-Class line-up continued to perform extremely well throughout November.
Overall, Mercedes-Benz passenger car sales were up 4.9% for the month, totaling 1,211 units for November and 13,646 vehicles year-to-date.
Luxury light trucks also continued to achieve impressive sales figures with 860 units sold throughout the month. This represents an increase of 77.3% compared to November 2008, and 94.7% overall growth for the segment with 8,811 units delivered year-to-date.
The company?s diesel sales ratio was 72.4% for the month while permanent all-wheel drive 4MATIC? units accounted for 83.2% of the overall passenger car and light truck sales (excluding smart).
The Mercedes-Benz pre-owned side also reported its best November ever with a total of 658 units delivered. This is ahead 219 units or 49.9% for the month, and up 21.3% for the year with a total of 7,626 units sold to date.
