Peugeot topped the timesheets on the second day of the American Le Mans Series pre-season test at Sebring yesterday.

Stephane Sarrazin's 908 set a best time of 1:42.801 around the 3.7-mile circuit, more than two seconds quicker than the pole position time for last year's Sebring 12 Hours.

The Audi R10 TDi of Allan McNish was eight tenths adrift in second.

"I've got a good feeling about this car," said Sarrazin. "We've worked on the balance and had a new set of tyres on this morning. I really didn't expect to post the time we did."

Bryan Herta was third quickest, and best of the LMP2 cars, in the Andretti Green Racing Acura ARX-01b. The Aston Martin DBR9 of Antonio Garcia was quickest in GT1, with Jaime Melo's Risi Competizione Ferrari 430 topping GT2.

The test at the Florida circuit concludes today, ahead of the season opening Sebring 12 Hours on March 15.
