Title: AC/DCAG Smart Roadster re-visit
Post by: fasteddy on January 31, 2007, 09:33:49 AM
The late lamented Smart Radster is alive and well in Wales. Project Kimber, which bought the rights to the tiny sportster from DCAG last year, plans to build 7000 examples a year in Port Talbot (the birth place of Anthony Hopkins) under the old sports car name AC, as Ace, Aceca, and Cobra. Among those involved in the re-engineering process is ex-McLaren design whiz Gordon Murray. The sprightly cars will use the Smart Fourtwo on-liter, three-cylinder motor with ZF manual gearbox. They could start rolling off the line in 2007 at $23,000 to $37,000 (turbocharged) and hit U.S. roads by 2009. See more at www.projectkimber.com

Hit US roads by 2009! I see a couple of northbound detours in the future for these.  ;D
