Spectacular 360? live pictures from the DTM season finale
R?dermark/Wiesbaden ? The TV audience may look forward to being provided with spectacular pictures from the DTM season finale held at Hockenheim. For the final round of the 2007 season, Hamburg based production company broad|Support will use for the very first time throughout the world a novel camera system: ?PanoMotion Pro? delivers moving 360? pictures in real time, thus ensuring that the fans of the most popular international touring car series are provided with even more thrilling impressions of the race action.

The system consisting of a high-definition camera, equipped with a special lens, allows for pan shots and 360? tracking shots. This offers the opportunity of spectacular 360? pit-lane panoramas that can be used live or as analysing tool and controlled by the director and the presenter. This way, the DTM audience is taken even closer to the pit stops. The viewers are provided with a spectacular overview of the team?s tyre changes that occasionally are executed in less then four seconds and often turn out to be a key factor for the race result. The 360? camera-system has been tested since May but in the DTM finale at Hockenheim, it is used for the very first time throughout the world for a TV production. The use of the new camera system is realised in cooperation with WIGE Media AG that is responsible for the entire DTM TV production.

?It was our goal to provide the audience with previously virtually unimaginable impressions of thrilling and crucial scenes of the race action,? explains Jens Thoben, co-designer of the system and one of broad|Support?s three Managing Directors. Just as Thoben, his two partners, Bj?rn Matthias and Wido Groell, also are convinced that the sensational live pictures will be appreciated by the DTM enthusiasts. ?The audience is provided with additional information and will be thrilled by the enthralling pictures as many details, tricks and impressions of the pit stops never could be watched, to date!?

?PanoMotion Pro? is distributed exclusively by R?demark based distributor Videor Technical that was involved in the system?s development. The same applies to easylook Systems: in cooperation with the ?Fraunhofer Insitut?, the Hamburg based company designed the ultra-compact camera MODULA HDTV for the professional broadcasting use.
