Mitterbauer bus company operating TopClass 500
« on: September 18, 2014, 01:53:11 PM »
Vienna/Ybbs an der Donau. Mitterbauer Reisen & Logistik GmbH in Ybbs an der Donau, Lower Austria, has added an S 517 HDH of the Setra TopClass 500 series to its fleet. The long-established company collected its first Setra in the guise of an S 9 from Ulm back in 1966, since when it has operated buses belonging to all of the brand's model series. In keeping with this tradition, the Mitterbauer family was quick to acquire
four ComfortClass 500 vehicles directly after their market launch, and as soon as the S 517 HDH became available they snapped up one of these models as the flagship for their 60-strong fleet of buses - as the first company to put this vehicle into service in Austria. With its timelessly elegant, dynamic design and its particularly luxurious appointments, this bus provides for an exclusive travel experience. For Franz Mitterbauer, the TopClass 500 is the absolute creme de la creme, and he is equally won over by the entire space concept featuring high-quality seats and by the new heating and air-conditioning concept. All the currently available active and passive safety systems are also on board. Franz Mitterbauer is impressed by the perfectly matched and tuned powertrain featuring the newly developed BlueEfficiency Euro VI engine and by the extremely smooth running in all driving situations.
Modern service company for tourism and transport
Three years ago, the company which was established in Ybbs an der Donau in 1957 moved to a new 25,000 m2 site. The centrepiece of this site is Austria's most cutting-edge coach terminal, with roofed-over bus platforms and a bright and welcoming check-in zone for the company's passengers. At Mitterbauer, up-market coach trips are intended to offer a special atmosphere right from the word go. The vehicles of the Setra 500 model series meet the Mitterbauer's requirements to perfection. The new buses will be used primarily for the company's own travel programme, as well as for specific groups in the European tourism sector. The multi-faceted company is also firmly established in the area of regional transport services, in addition to which a booming transport and logistics segment covering diverse fields of operation represents another mainstay. The company's close ties with the Setra brand are also demonstrated by the two lovingly restored classic Setra buses - an S 9 and an S 208, both of which are on display in a specially installed showroom directly at the bus terminal.
