2013 DTM: ITR test days and media day at Hockenheim
« on: February 14, 2013, 11:24:27 AM »
The 2013 DTM season is getting closer. In the official ITR test days at Barcelona from March 26th till 29th and at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg from April 9th till 12th, the teams from Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz will be giving their cars the final touch in preparation for the season opener that, as usual, takes place at Hockenheim on May 5th.

The symbolic go-ahead for the DTM-year 2013 is already given a little bit less than one month prior to the first round with a media day at Hockenheim on April 9th. Hans Werner Aufrecht, chairman of the DTM’s rights-holder and promoter ITR e.V., and the heads of motorsport of the three premium car manufacturers Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz will officially start the final test days prior to the season opener. After that, they will participate in a press conference, together with reigning DTM champion Bruno Spengler and further drivers as well as a representative from tyre partner Hankook, to answer questions and to give an outlook on the new season.

In the course of the day at Hockenheim, journalists will get the opportunity to talk with all the drivers in a relaxed atmosphere. For accredited media representatives, access to the race track is possible on all test days, both at Hockenheim and at Barcelona (March 26th till 29th). Working places with internet access are available for journalists.

Interested fans can also watch the action in testing on April 9th at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg. On this day, a grand stand will be opened for spectators.

Accreditation for the test days at Barcelona and Hockenheim will open next week, together with the start of the accreditation for the ten rounds of the 2013 DTM season. After the season opener at Hockenheim, this year’s calendar includes Brand Hatch/GB (May 19th), Red Bull Ring/A (June 2nd), Lausitzring/D (June 16th), Norisring/D (July 14th), the premiere in Russia at the Moscow Raceway (August 4th), Nürburgring/D (August 18th), Motorsport Arena Oschersleben/D (September 15th), Circuit Park Zandvoort/NL (September 29th) and the finale at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg (October 20th).
