« on: May 18, 2021, 12:46:30 PM »
Stuttgart — The planned division of Daimler Mobility into two independent financial services companies for the car and van business and the truck and bus business is leading to changes on the Board of Management. Stephan Unger (54), the long-term Chief Financial Officer (CFO), is to take on the leadership of the new company-owned financial services unit of Daimler Truck AG and join the Board of Management of Daimler Truck AG with effect from 1 July 2021. Stephan Unger was appointed CFO in 2012 and has until now been responsible for Finance & Controlling, Risk Management and Digital Mobility solutions.

“On behalf of the Supervisory Board, I would like to thank Stephan Unger, who over the last nine years has played a major role in strategically shaping the transformation of Daimler Mobility into an innovative provider of financial services, fleet management and mobility solutions on the basis of the key figures. His personal efforts have made a decisive contribution to the success story of Daimler Mobility,” said Harald Wilhelm, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Daimler Mobility AG and member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG responsible for Finance and Controlling.

The Supervisory Board has appointed Gerrit-Michael Duelks (41) as the new Chief Financial Officer of Daimler Mobility AG with effect from 1 July 2021. As a member of the Daimler FC Executive Committee he will report to Harald Wilhelm and Franz Reiner, CEO of Daimler Mobility.

Gerrit-Michael Duelks began his professional career at Deloitte & Touche and joined Daimler AG, where he held various positions in Corporate Audit, in 2007. In 2014 he moved to the company then known as Daimler Financial Services AG and held a number of management positions in its Finance and Controlling unit in Singapore, China, Korea and Germany. At the end of 2019 he took on global responsibility for Corporate Controlling and Risk Management at today’s Daimler Mobility AG.

“We have succeeded in acquiring the internationally experienced financial expert Gerrit-Michael Duelks as CFO. He is extremely familiar with all of the corporate units and has outstanding qualifications both professionally and personally,” says Harald Wilhelm.

“I’m delighted to welcome Gerrit-Michael Duelks to our Board of Management. In the coming months we will divide one organization into two powerful and focussed financial services companies, each with its own appropriate performance measures. The Chief Financial Officer will play a decisive role here. With Gerrit-Michael Duelks and his broad range of experience we are well positioned for this task. I am convinced that Gerrit-Michael Duelks will seamlessly carry on the successful collaboration with Stephan Unger,” says Franz Reiner.
