Actros 2551 and Team Direct Energie at the Tour de France
« on: July 11, 2017, 10:51:32 AM »
Covering a distance of 3540 kilometres through the French countryside, at altitudes of up to 2642 metres, calls not only for trained cyclists but also a dynamic and unique team. French cycling team Direct Energie from the department of Vendée, with top cyclist Thomas Voeckler, therefore decided that only the best will do when it came to choosing the accompanying transport. Jean-René Bernaudeau, Manager of Team Direct Energie, opted for a Mercedes-Benz Actros 2551 with an OM 471 engine rated at 375 kW (510 hp) and fitted out with luxurious appointments. In addition, the Actros boasts a side bike mount with vertical attachments and quick-release fasteners from bodybuilder Pocar Demas - the truck's highlight. This powerful premium model is the ideal companion for Direct Energie as the team takes on the topographically challenging Tour de France.
